Some Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide insurance for my rental bike?2023-02-13T20:44:01+02:00

We do not offer insurance for damage or theft to rental bikes. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not offer these types of policies so GET ACTIVE RHODES would need to assume the risk and we do not believe in selling a fictitious product and covering damage.

What happens if it rains? Are there refunds available?2023-02-13T20:43:04+02:00

We do not offer refunds due to weather conditions or any other force majeure.

What happens if the bike is damaged or stolen during my rental period?2023-03-25T12:10:10+02:00

By renting a bike from us you are taking full responsibility for the safety and condition of the bike.

If damage is caused to the bike during your rental period you will be held responsible and charged the cost to GET ACTIVE RHODES of repairing the bike (and for any replacement parts).

If the bike is stolen during your rental period you will be charged the cost to GET ACTIVE RHODES to replace the bike.

We highly advise making sure your bike rental is covered for damage & theft by your travel insurance policy.

What day and time can I collect and return my bike?2023-02-13T20:41:06+02:00

Our bike hire shop is open from 8am-4pm Monday to saturday.. and sunday on request, please check that before traveling to the shop.

Please return your bike by 4pm (16.00hrs) to the shop (if collected from the shop) on the final day of your reservation.

You can request early collection of your bike (for example the evening before to ride early) however we can not guarantee it.

Which way round are the brakes?2023-02-13T20:38:26+02:00

All of our rental bikes have ‘European style’ brakes which are as follows:

  • Left lever is the front brake
  • Right lever is the rear brake

Unfortunately, it is not possible to swap the brakes.

We can supply you with a Garmin GPS device for an extra €5 per day which would be loaded with routes when we deliver the bike or alternatively we can suggest a number of routes on maps.

All our road bikes come with a compact 50/34 chainset and an 11-32 cassette on the rear.

We have Genesis and Rapide road bikes and Saracen mountain bikes.

All our bike rentals come with a pump, repair kit, multi tool, spare inner tube, padlock and a helmet.

Free delivery on orders over €100. Minimum hire 2 to 5 days for delivery depending on location, please get in touch for specific details. Collection from the shop is by appointment only.

We do provide assistance. If you have a mechanical problem while out cycling just call us and we will come to you.

We would prefer customers to bring there own pedals and we fit, but if this is a problem we do have some stock of Shimano SPD and SPD-SL and Look pedals.
